October 2003

10-20-03 Okay, I started an entry about my job, but never finished it, so here it is. (Since some people were wondering what happened to me.)

Let me just say that it is such an easy job.

Mostly I sit around reading magazines, writing letters, or talking with the other people at work.

What I am supposed to do is send the ladies (and gentlemen) on their breaks and lunches.

So, a while about my roommate and I went to see Ghost of the Robot. James Marsters is entertaining, even when he's singing. Kind of wished there were less screaming, giddy little fan girls, so I could enjoy the music more. But still had fun.

Enjoyed Pirate Faire at Ojai also. Enjoyed the second day better, since my hair was braided, made it a bit cooler, and the weather was cooler that day too.

Jen and I went to see Underworld with a friend of her's and his friend. We found bits of the movie hysterical (that weren't supposed to be.) I'm not sure if it's because we had all played Masquerade before, or from the overkill of angst in the movie.

Let's see. Jen got a job at Godiva. She gets a 50% discount, so guess what everyone'll probably get for presents and gifts! (Chocolate!)

I'm taking Korean classes from the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) on Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. It's $30 for a semester of classes, semesters are nine weeks long. I'm in Beginner B, the second level of classes, and there are six levels. Hopefully after about a year and a half I'll be able to speak Korean conversationally. I'm also looking to take some traditional Korean music classes there.

Jen and I also have an opportunity to see the premiere of Return of the King here in L.A. on Dec. 3. I've mailed in our packet and hopefully we'll get a reply (with our tickets) in the next few days.

We also got a post office box, so we can get packages and all sorts of nice things like that. We won't have to worry about our mail being stolen like it can be at the apartment. Anything that doesn't fit in the apartment mail boxes gets left on the floor in the hallway, in front of the mail boxes, for anyone to take.

I'm hoping that I can get into a routine soon where I can do more things than just sleep and work. There are a whole bunch of museums, concerts and events that I would like to go to. Right now I just manage to stay up a few hours after I get off of work, and then I sleep, sleep, sleep until I have to get ready for work.

Maybe I need to get ear plugs, although I find sleeping with them a bit uncomfortable, I know I wake up several times when I'm trying to sleep. Sometimes it's due to the neighbors, sometimes it's just because. Only if I did use ear plugs I'd worry that I might not hear my alarm when it goes off.

National Novel Writing Month 2003 will be starting up in a week or two. Jen and I will be working on that together, even though you're not supposed to, although how we are going to actually write together is anyone's guess at this point.

We need to get groceries soon. Our freezer is almost empty, really only ice cream in there now. Our fridge has a block of ice growing in it, but still doesn't manage to keep anything cool. And we seem to have misplaced a Korean market.

I've almost lost nine pounds since moving away from Oklahoma, I think I can't really be sure since my weight fluctuates during the day. So I have about 13 more pounds that I would like to lose.

It looks like we'll be in 'Vegas for Halloween.

My youngest step-sister is supposed to be here some time today, I may get to see her. I didn't get to on the trip out here from Oklahoma.

Other than that there isn't very much else besides work and school going on.
